The main multiplayer mode of this game revolves around the battle arena that houses two teams of 5 players, who can fight against each other until one team wins or some team surrenders. While the traditional mainline Pokémon games allow players to slowly build up their collection of Pokémon creatures by exploring the open world and upgrading them via various combat challenges, Pokémon UNITE was developed from the ground up to be focused only on combat arenas.
